Balloon Fiesta

Albuquerque hosts the worlds largest balloon event. This year it ran 10 days covering two weekends. Over 1000 balloonists participate with mass ascensions of up to 700 filling the skies with colorful shapes. Weekend evenings end with balloon glows where tethered balloons are lit up with their propane heaters, followed by large fireworks displays. This event brings visitors from over the world. Since events are morning and evening so quite a few visitors make their way up to Madrid.
